The answer is to use functions such as InStr() if you want to search items that contains some words, Left() for items that begins with some words, and Right() for items that ends with some words.

Example: to return activities that start with "Eq":

SELECT

FILTER([Activity].[Activities].[Activity].MEMBERS, LEFT([Activity].[Activities].CURRENTMEMBER.Properties("Caption"), 2) = "Eq") ON ROWS

, [Measures].[ValEvents]

ON COLUMNS

FROM

InSiteCube

WHERE

[Date].[Calendar].[Year].&[2010]

To return activities that contain "drill":

SELECT

FILTER([Activity].[Activities].[Activity].MEMBERS, InStr([Activity].[Activities].CURRENTMEMBER.Name, "drill") > 0) ON ROWS

, [Measures].[ValEvents]

ON COLUMNS

FROM

InSiteCube

WHERE

[Date].[Calendar].[Year].&[2010]

To return activities that ends with "time":

SELECT

FILTER([Activity].[Activities].[Activity].MEMBERS, RIGHT([Activity].[Activities].CURRENTMEMBER.Properties("Caption"), 4) = "time") ON ROWS

, [Measures].[ValEvents]

ON COLUMNS

FROM

InSiteCube

WHERE

[Date].[Calendar].[Year].&[2010]

To use named set in the MDX query:

WITH SET [EqActivities] AS {FILTER([Activity].[Activities].[Activity].MEMBERS, LEFT([Activity].[Activities].CURRENTMEMBER.Properties("Caption"), 2) = "eq")}

SELECT

[EqActivities] ON ROWS

, [Measures].[ValEvents]

ON COLUMNS

FROM

InSiteCube

WHERE

[Date].[Calendar].[Year].&[2010]

Upon SSRS 2008 and Report Builder 2.0 installation, the report builder that is launched from SSRS 2008 report manager is  still Report Builder version 1, which is the SSRS 2005 version. To point it to Report Builder version 2.0:

1) Go to SSRS 2008 report manager then click on Site Settings.

2) In the Site Settings, set  the Custom Report Builder Launch URL to:
            /ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application

3) If the following error occurs, install SQL Server 2008 SP1. This should make the error go away.

The report server could not transmit the file because the file
/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application is not installed or you
do not have the correct permissions to access it.
